Angama Mara
Located high above the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, Angama Mara overlooks Kenya’s Maasai Mara, one of the best wildlife regions on the continent. The lodge is stylish and contemporary, yet warm and homely.

Angama Mara

Angama Mara, a remarkable owner-run safari lodge inspired by the Swahili word for 'suspended in mid air'. The only luxury lodge to be set high up on Kenya's Great Rift Valley escarpment, with view’s of Africa’s legendary Maasai Mara, three hundred meters below.

At Angama guests are accommodated in two completely separate camps, each made up of fifteen suites, decorated in classical African safari style, overlooking what many safari travellers deem to be the loveliest game reserve on the continent. End-to-end glass frontage, sweeping canvas, overhanging decks and inside, polished parquet floors with just the right amount of furniture! ‘The lodge family’ of guides, chefs, butlers, housekeepers and camp managers are driven by a unique ethos of guest delight.

The Maasai Mara deliver extraordinary wildlife sightings, prides of lion, solitary leopards, the shy black rhino and abundant herds of elephant and buffalo. You can easily head out at sunrise with picnics and spend the whole day exploring the Mara triangle in an open 4x4 vehicle. Or you can float over the Mara in a hot-air balloon followed by an escorted walk of the breathtaking Rift Valley with Maasai naturalists. In the evening, toast the sun as it drops behind the Rift Valley whilst Maasai warriors perform their customary dances under the traditional brush-packed half-moon boma.

Or, just relax, stay right here and don’t go anywhere!
