Built at the turn of the 19th century and ‘Victorianised’ at the turn of the 20th century, this national monument in the heart of Cape Town is home to the now hip and historic Cape Cadogan hotel – owned and operated by the More Family.

As foodie enthusiasts we found our Muesli Mecca here! Who doesn’t love a delicious hotel breakfast? Great coffee and a selection of pastries, home made bread, fresh fruit and friendly smiles. Certainly a contrast from the usual apple on the go! At Cadogan you breakfast like a King! And their breakfasts are served until late, so you can sleep in a bit if you wish! Breakfasts overlook the pool and garden, so if you have a sunny morning like ours be sure to pick a courtyard table.

We tucked into their most popular breakfast - homemade Muesli stuffed with nuts and cranberries, but their Eggs Benedict are equally egg-cellent!

And as Cadogan’s CEO and Co-Founder, Robert More, so eloquently puts it ‘you cannot help but sink a little deeper into your armchair, and just slowly drink it all in.’

You can tell their staff have a natural flair for taking care of their guests. They took us on a tour for an overview of what goes on behind closed doors! With the emphasis on bold contrasts in both the shared areas and the bedrooms, their décor is hallmarked by an eclectic contemporary, antique mix that just works!

Staying here puts you amidst hub of the city bowl’s most sought after areas.

Sadly we weren’t acquainted with the mandatory high tea and lemonade in the library but we’ll be back for MORE before they know it!
