Victoria Falls Hotel
Known as ‘the grand old lady of the falls’ The Victoria Falls Hotel is a charming, colonial five star hotel overlooking the acclaimed Victoria Falls.
Renowned for exemplary service, affluent accommodation and exceptional facilities, this century old hotel has one hundred and sixty one rooms with warm, inviting décor providing tranquility and seclusion. The stable wing rooms, our personal favourites, have their own central courtyard, private lounge, exclusive check in area and access to the front lawns. And they have no less than three fine dining restaurants.
With unparalleled views of the most impressive waterfall in Africa, the hotel has both its quirks, like snuffling resident warthogs and vervet monkeys who diligently trim the lawns and its indulgences! The famous falls are just a ten minute stroll away via the hotel’s private pathway. Other activities include swimming in the garden pool, visiting the Larry Norton Art And Stone dynamic sculpture galleries, playing tennis or the compulsory high tea scoff on the balcony followed by a colonial juice or two! The area is of course known for the adrenalin activities and nearby attractions.
Possibly the best example of Edwardian architecture anywhere outside of Britain, The Vic Falls Hotel speaks to the optimism people have about the future of this beautiful country.
Caroline's Hot Tips
We prefer the Stable Wing Rooms. They are more spacious and private.
Make a five night journey with a combined experience of two night’s stay at The Victoria Falls Hotel and three night’s experience on the Rovos Rail from Pretoria.
Enjoy the wide range of activities offered in the area. Helicopter flips over the falls, white water rafting which is seasonal, elephant back safaris, bungee jumping and sunset cruises on the Zambezi.
Make an afternoon of their high tea scoff. It's compulsory in our opinion!
