Sable Alley
A traditional, sustainable safari on a vast private concession, the newly refurbished and brilliantly located Sable Alley overlooks an idyllic lagoon located in Botswana’s Khwai Private Reserve, home to the most diverse habitat and animal populations in Botswana.

Sable Alley

Sable Alley is set in the Khwai Private Reserve, Botswana. A stone’s throw from the only proclaimed wildlife reserve in the Okavango Delta, getting there is pretty painless with frequent flights into Maun and Kasane - gateways to the prolific parks.

The camp retains its tented style, effortlessly sweeping across the face of the lagoon, romantically furnished with ethereal canopy beds and wooden floors. All twelve tents are 100% solar-powered and furnished with en suite bathrooms, private verandas and private showers both indoors and outdoors. Three of which comprise their famed sky beds - unique three-storey platforms set over the water and under the stars, gently illuminated by lanterns at night. The communal living areas consists of a bar, lounge and dining room where guests can study the passing herds quenching their thirst at the plunge pool. Delicious three course meals are served at dinner coupled with superb wines, and served by gracious hosts. And of course, you can’t beat a cool G&T at sundown.

Spanning a quarter of the Okavango Delta in a magnificent map of forests, lagoons, floodplains and islands, the area is one of Africa’s remaining great wildlife habitats providing refuge to huge concentrations of game. Resident species include lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, wild dog, zebra and red lechwe; and can be surveyed and savoured on a multiple of safari platforms from game drives to mokoro trips and night drives to bush walks. Sable Alley is famed for being frequented by large herds of thirsty hippopotamus and the guides here are masters when it comes to interpreting and unravelling the sights, smells, and sounds of the bush.
