Imogen McCormick Matthews
Originally from England, Imogen was bitten by the 'Africa bug' at a young age whilst spending family holidays in South Africa. She had always said she was going to end up living in this beautifully diverse country.
After completing her biological sciences degree in the UK, she moved to South Africa to pursue a life long dream of becoming a field guide in the Eastern Cape - the thick vegetation and high levels of biodiversity in this region mean you really never know what’s around the corner. As much as she fell in love with the wildlife in the area, there was also something incredibly special about being part of people’s once-in-a-life-time holiday.
After 4 years of living in the bush, the city of Cape Town came calling, and the opportunity to curate and tailor journeys for travelers to this stunning continent could not be ignored.
Africa has something for everyone - the beaches, mountains, wine and wildlife, and she certainly doesn’t do anything by halves.
A Ripple For Change
Six years ago we made a commitment to changing young lives. Because we believe that the solution to poverty is through the fundamentals of education. Because we believe children are a product of their nucleus. And because, as Mandela so aptly once put it, ‘overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity, it’s an act of justice.’
